1. CHOOSE YOUR ISSUE+
Marvin sang about a range of issues and ideas on What's Going On. We want to hear your thoughts on those same issues in today's world.
- Familiarize yourself with the issues, and think about how they touch your life. If you have a personal or emotional connection to the subject, your piece will be that much stronger.
- Listen to the music, and spend some time looking at how the world was in Marvin's day. Connecting the “then” to the “now” is an important part of this project.
- Do some research. It will help inform and inspire your work. There is plenty to get you started on this site.
2. GRAB A TRACK+
Some kinds of stories will need a soundtrack, others won't. Either way, you can download these tracks to use in your project.

Album Track Excerpts
*A couple things to note: 1) If you are using a soundtrack, it must be music from this list, or your own creation. Read more in our Music Guidelines. 2) You can make changes and add things to the music tracks if they are your own creation, but any changes will become the property of the publisher, EMI Entertainment.
3. PICK A TOOL+
There are lots of ways to express yourself. First, decide whether you are making a video, an audio story, or another kind of media.
Then, pick your production tool. You might already have a favorite. If not, here are some links to some free tools:

Performers, poets, and other artists can contribute, too. Check out our guidelines for what kinds of media to choose.

Be sure you have read the Guidelines. They'll tell you what can—and can't—be included in your piece.
Print our Production Checklist to use as you work.
Do your thing! Have fun. But take it seriously—you are sharing your voice with the world!
